A Dream Born in the Mara

I was born in Rekero Village, in the heart of the remote Mara savannah. As a child, I walked nearly 10 kilometers each day to attend Endoinyo Erinka Primary School. Later, I moved to Nkoben to complete my primary education.

Despite my strong desire to continue learning, I was unable to pursue high school. Limited financial resources and the long distance from my village made it impossible.

Growing up in such a remote area brought many challenges for children like me. But in those challenges, a dream was born — a dream to one day build a school for my community, so future generations would not have to choose between distance, poverty, and education.

From Watchman to Safari Guide

I began my professional journey as a watchman. With perseverance and dedication, I was promoted to waiter, and through relentless effort and training, I became a safari guide.

Today, I am proud to be recognized for my deep knowledge of the African wilderness, warm hospitality, and ability to create unforgettable experiences in the savannah.

Every guest I guided strengthened not only my career, but also my vision — that tourism could help build opportunity for local children.

Building Hope Through Education

My commitment to delivering authentic experiences in the Mara and creating a better future for our young boys and girls led me to establish the Reto Foundation.

Reto Foundation is more than a project.
It is the realization of a childhood dream — to bring accessible, quality education closer to home, and to give every child in our community the chance to learn, grow, and thrive.

Because no child should have to walk 10 kilometers just to reach their future.
